Life is too short – because it really is.
Life is too short to worry about things that do not matter. That is why I try to enjoy what is here each day and to focus on what really counts: joy, love, strength and challenges. Love in my private life, and in my work as well. Just Iris and now also Eventbuddies are like my children, born from passion and creativity.
From my companies I draw not only energy, but also valuable lessons. They give me room to grow and to do the things I love.
Who and why?
I honestly believe it was always only a matter of time before I would start my own company, even though I never thought it would be in this direction. Entrepreneurship was in me from a young age. I was that headstrong girl you could not park in the corner with dolls – I would rather go on adventures in the woods with the boys. I already loved building and creating then, but that this passion would grow into a creative, rather feminine profession? Nobody saw that coming!
Now, at 34, I am starting to see more clearly who I am and where I want to take my company. Just Iris has grown into a full creative event agency, something I could never have predicted. With my love of entrepreneurship, the search for challenges and the constant urge to create, I already have a wonderful series of events and festivals to my name. I am incredibly grateful for that – not only to my clients, but also to the amazing team that has gathered around me.
If I had to describe myself, I would say I am a real live wire. I am someone who will walk 1000 miles for you if needed, but I can also keep calm and stay in control of many parts of my life. At the same time I have learned to let go of that control sometimes and make space for the moment – to really be here and now. I am decisive, caring and exceptionally creative, and my dyslexia has actually played a big part in that.
That creativity and energy sometimes mean I go too hard, and then I run into myself. Luckily I have a fantastic team that puts the brakes on now and then when I need it. Together we have let Just Iris grow and flourish, and I look forward to many more adventures and to making more dreams real.
Just Iris is not only a company, it is an extension of who I am: someone who is always looking for new possibilities, who keeps challenging herself and always wants to move forward. The adventure continues, and I am ready to create many more unforgettable events, together with my team and clients. And with our new 500m² showroom and rental company Eventbuddies, I cannot wait to see what the coming years have in store. The future looks promising, and we are ready to reach new heights!
