Alice in Waterland: an enchanting experience in BlueCity Rotterdam
At Just Iris everything revolves around creating unique experiences, and our Alice in Waterland project is a beautiful example of that. For this special event we worked closely with Kris and Waterschapshuis to design an immersive experience at event venue BlueCity Rotterdam. With a wide range of creative elements, we transformed this space into a magical world for 200 guests.
The Alice in Waterland theme was inspired by the adventurous atmosphere of Alice in Wonderland, but with a fresh twist: water took centre stage. From the very first site visit to the final finishing touches, we worked out every detail to deliver an immersive and meaningful event.
A journey through water and imagination
Guests were welcomed on arrival in the Heart Room, a beautiful setting where imagination and nature came together. This room served as the starting point of a unique journey. Visitors then discovered a specially designed white-water ride, where wireless headphones let them experience a story about the latest innovations from Waterschapshuis. This playful, interactive element was not only fun, but also brought important developments in water management to life.
During the evening, guests were taken through an impressive introduction by Waterschapshuis itself. Through a combination of visual effects, interactive presentations and storytelling, we conveyed the message in a creative and inspiring way.
From concept to delivery
Alice in Waterland was fully organised by Just Iris, including the complete styling concept and hired-in materials. Drawing on our expertise in decoration and creative direction, we tailored the venue to the theme down to the smallest details. Working with Kris and Waterschapshuis was essential to making everything come together perfectly.
We look back on Alice in Waterland with pride as a beautiful example of what is possible when creativity, collaboration and organisation come together. At Just Iris we believe in an experience from A to Z, and this project shows how we deliver an unforgettable experience from concept to delivery.
